Standing Mountain
I stand erect
breathing life
into my veins,
the tributaries
of my soul.
I have walked
barefoot
across acidic coals
to find myself
standing
at the base
of this mountain.
Forward
I step,
treading upward,
climbing
an infinite spiral,
tunneling
into the core
of your granite heart.
