Lynda Jones grew up on a cattle ranch in rural Oklahoma with four older brothers. She began playing piano and writing poetry as a young child. Today she blends her classical piano training with traditional gospel, country, folk and rock music to create an Americana style all her own. Lynda comes straight from the heart, then she dives right back into it. Her lyrics explore the bare truths—truths about love, loss, and faith in the human spirit. Her voice is filled with an innocent wisdom that captures the audience with its honesty and humility. Her songs and tales unwind into universal stories that are not afraid to ask thought-provoking questions. Audiences of all ages delight in her honesty and her humor. She makes them privy to her personal insights, those lessons she has learned along the way. Always ready to break into a smile, she is witty and able to keep her audience involved, whether they are laughing, crying, or trapped inside the stories she shares. A prolific writer, her messages reveal startling truths. No barriers exist between her heart and the world she explores.
In 1999 Lynda Jones wrote her first song. In 2004, she released her critically, acclaimed debut CD, Tangle of Love. In January, 2006, Jones will release her second CD, Notes Along the Way. Both CD’s, produced by Paul Pearcy, take the listener on a musical journey that captures the true essence of the Americana spirit. Listeners find themselves relaxing, smiling and singing along with her catchy phrases and memorable melodies. From the mountains to the recital hall, Lynda gracefully traverses the journey and embraces the entire prism of human emotions. She delivers light-hearted folk and love songs, then delves into the darker, more melancholy chambers of the human heart. Her multi-media shows are drawn from her entire body of work—songs, poetry and fiction. These storytelling performances are educational, and filled with wise and delightful surprises. She has taught English and writing for over twenty years, and is an avid equestrian.
