LYNDA JONES
Notes Along the Way
Produced by Paul Pearcy
"…Lynda Jones creates incredibly beautiful music, in which elements of country, folk, classical music and rock meet in an original and fresh way."
-- Jan Gardberg, Uusi Nainen (The New Woman) |
Notes Along the Way comes only one year after the release of Lynda’s critically acclaimed debut CD, Tangle of Love. A prolific writer, Jones takes the listener on a delightful journey, one filled with nuance and surprise. Producer, Paul Pearcy creates a satisfying panorama of her many styles, and features a stellar band—Floyd Domino, Marvin Dykhuis, Kenny Grimes, David Carroll, and Glenn Fukunaga. Eamon McLoughlin of the Greencards brings spontaneity and magic to the country waltz—"Dance Again With Me."
"Can’t Hide My Heart" sets the tone for the entire CD, revealing Lynda’s honesty and wisdom. The sure single is "A Little of You," a Latin, jazz groove that bursts with passion and seductive rhythm. Creative background vocals are provided by Kimmie Rhodes on "The Way," and "Time Is A Hero," a profound riddle that tries to unravel the mystery of true love. Jones’s daughter, Chelsea, brings youthful vocal sparks to the uplifting, country tune "One Way to Fall." Songs like "The Way," "If I Say," and "When Will You Come Home?" are intimate love letters that offer answers to universal questions of unrequited love and forgiveness.
Notes Along the Way includes Jones’s award winning song, "Push Each Other Up," which was recognized as Honorable Mention in the 2005 Woody Guthrie Songwriter’s Contest. With Rob Gjersoe on weissenborn this song, along with the gospel tune, "Goin’ Home," adds
true Americana spirit to this soulful CD—all proof that Jones is on her
way to becoming one of America’s best songwriters.
